This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Long Beach is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Long Beach follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

service carries; might've been on me for ordering this at a sushi spot, but the poke was oversauced into a slimy-tart clump. the tuna itself was alright, with the expected crunch of cucumber, so its best to stick to their more popular items.. π©

Ordered two rolls, the Atlantic and Las Vegas roll... both were underwhelming. The seaweed was so chewy on the Las Vegas roll that trying to get through it as a roll was almost impossible. I eventually gave up on eating it. It was also on the drier sideand there was a lot more shell on the shrimp, than just the tail at the end of the roll. That is also something that had to be picked out. The Atlantic roll was just ok, nothing that stood out very much. As far as environment, I got my order to go... had to go back and ask for chopsticks, even though they said they were in the bag, and the lady acted like I was trying to hoard chopsticks.. when there were in fact none in the bag! I guess I should have just waited...I went around 1130pm... If I dined in, I would've absolutely sent the Las Vegas roll back.

We visited 39 Degrees with high expectations, given how packed the restaurant was. Clearly, itβs a popular spot. However, our experience didnβt quite match the hype. Right off the bat, the presence of several homeless people right outside the entrance made the arrival a bit uncomfortable. Not something the restaurant can fully control, but it does affect the first impression. As for the food β while the sushi looked beautifully presented, the taste was underwhelming. We ordered the sashimi sampler, a variety of sushis, and tried their sampler rolls. Surprisingly, the sushis were better than the sashimi sampler, but still just average. The rolls were okay, but nothing memorable. On the positive side, the service was friendly and attentive, which we appreciated. But unfortunately, good service alone canβt salvage a sushi experience if the food doesnβt meet expectations. With so many great sushi options around, I donβt think weβll be returning. Looks nice, popular with the crowd, but the taste and quality just didnβt deliver for us.
